Bread of Life is a volunteer organization serving the hungry, homeless, needy and isolated that brings together 35 churches, synagogues, high schools and community organizations from the north Boston area to offer free evening meals four nights a week, an emergency food pantry, free clothing and grocery delivery to senior citizens in public housing. Bread of Life collaborates with local agencies to help low-income residents obtain counseling, furniture, housing, and financial assistance. The Career Place (TCP), a founding partner of the Cyber Cafe @ Malden Square, is now operating Tri-CAP's Stimulus-/ARRA-funded Youth Work Experience Program (YWEP), serving out-of-school and at-risk youth living in Malden, Medford, or Everett. YWEP will place 10 of these youth in subsidized work experience jobs. Participants will receive job readiness preparation and needed social services for which they are eligible through Tri-CAP. ..............................................................................................................................................................The Everett Literacy Program (ELP) is housed by the Everett Office of Human Services at the Edward G. Connolly Center.  ELP has been subcontracted by Tri-CAP to provide three Stimulus-/ARRA-funded ESOL classes. This program was featured as an outstanding example of the use of funds provided by American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)/Stimulus dollars. Forty-five adults with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) will improve their English language skills that will, in turn, improve their employability. There is such a demand for these classes that the ELP has a waiting list of 200+.
