VALDOSTA – South Georgia Medical Center has announced that Dr. Ana Margarita Hernandez Silen, MD, in the specialty of Obstetrics and Gynecology, is one of its new medical staff.
Hernandez Silen is joining Southern OB / GYN and will see patients in the office and at SGMC, hospital officials said in a statement.
Hernandez Silen received his medical degree from the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Albany Medical Center in Albany. She is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Hernandez Silen is fluent in Spanish and English and is fluent in French.
Hernandez Silen is married to Joe and together they have three children, Julia, Ema and Jozsi. In her spare time, she said she enjoyed traveling, crafts, cooking and baking.

SGMC names Clark Hospital Hero
VALDOSTA – South Georgia Medical Center honored social worker Nicole Clark as the hero of the hospital at the September hospital authority meeting.
Clark has worked at SGMC for 22 years and has been recognized for “her compassion and commitment to those less fortunate,” hospital officials said in a statement.
According to Jennifer Smith, director of case management, Clark goes above and beyond his role, even buying walkers for his uninsured and low-income patients so they can exit safely. hospital security.
“Nicole is an experienced social worker who is known to her colleagues for her skills in working with patients and families in difficult situations,” said Smith. “She does this with the utmost kindness and respect and is very intuitive, identifying and preventing problems before they arise. Clark is known for her “humane kindness which may include helping a homeless patient get a placement in a skilled nursing facility, calling local restaurants to provide patients with their favorite meals, or making sure that patients needing clothes have it, ”hospital officials said.

Childress appointed Director of Food / Nutrition
VALDOSTA – South Georgia Medical Center has appointed Jason Childress as director of food and nutrition.
Childress started with SGMC in early September, hospital officials said in a statement.
Childress graduated from the University of North Dakota with her certifications in food management and food protection.
Childress has been with Morrison Healthcare since February 2010, where he held various regional positions to “apply the standards and core values of the company,” hospital officials said.
“My time with Morrison and the roles I have held in the past have helped me grow as a professional. I am delighted to implement what I have learned and experienced in this role at SGMC,” said said Childress.
Childress added that he plans to help further improve the food and nutrition department’s already positive reputation.

Pediatrician joins Southwell Medical Adel
ADEL – Dr. Katie Hudgens, MD, internal physician and pediatrician, recently joined Southwell Medical Adel Primary Care.
Hudgens is available for pediatric and adult clinic appointments, as well as walk-in appointments, hospital officials said in a statement.
