Mount Sinai Health System and BronxCare Health System Celebrate New Cancer Center – Bronx Times

The Mount Sinai Health System, in conjunction with the BronxCare Health System, recently hosted a ribbon cutting to launch BronxCare Mount Sinai Comprehensive Cancer Care, a new state-of-the-art comprehensive cancer center in the Bronx.

The new space, located at 1775 Grand Concourse, will allow the two healthcare systems to join forces to meet the growing cancer needs in the region and to pursue their goal of achieving the best possible outcomes for patients.

Offering 10,000 square feet of space for medical oncology, surgical oncology and support services, the new facility houses an expanded treatment area with dedicated chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusion suites with large windows and natural light, an on-site specialized oncology pharmacy and advanced radiation oncology care. .

Additional features include:

  • 12 examination rooms
  • 20 private chemotherapy bays
  • Spacious waiting room with large reception area and friendly registration
  • Dedicated unloading area
  • Large conference room and multidisciplinary workspace
  • Private office of social action
  • Pharmacy clean room / chemotherapy preparation area on site
  • Intravenous therapy suite for blood transfusions, iron infusions, rheumatology and gastroenterology treatments
  • DigniCap cooling system for hair loss prevention
  • Dietetic services and patient navigation services

The director of the center will be Dr Kevin R. Jain, Section Head of Medical Oncology and Hematology at the BronxCare Health System. Jain is a widely recognized specialist oncology provider and will be responsible for all activities of the facility.

The establishment’s staff includes five medical oncologists and hematologists, five general surgeons, two oncological surgeons, two thoracic surgeons, two radiation oncologists, two neurosurgeons, four urologists, a social worker, two ENT surgeons specializing in oncology, a team of ‘graduate oncology nurses, two board-certified oncology pharmacists, an oncology pharmacy residency program, and a team of talented administrative and support staff.
