Things are about to heat up in the campaign for control of the Chicago Teachers Union.
A new CTU Grassroots Caucus announced its intention to take control of the politically fractured union in union elections scheduled for May 20.
Founders of REAL — meaning “Respect, Educate, Defend and Lead” – have not yet announced a list of candidates.
But the group has released a nascent campaign platform that targets current CTU leaders who have “lost touch with the challenges facing educators in our schools.”
